We are reporters on and near the frontline.

Frontliner is an interactive media about Russia's war against Ukraine.

What’s our goal?

We aim to give you a complete picture of what is happening with war, military personnel, civilians, overall mood, concerns, and victories.

Namely:

  • To be where we are needed - at the frontline and near it.
  • To provide the most comprehensive overview of events, thoughts, and overall moods.
  • To provide information interactively and in real-time, in compliance with journalistic standards.
  • To provide information through our site and convenient social media outlets - Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, X (ex. Twitter), YouTube.
  • To translate our reports into the English language to reach audiences all over the world with accurate and real-time information from the frontline.

What makes us unique?

Speak out so I can see you.

Interactivity is one of the key innovations of the media.

Instead of the "case-news-joint discussion" traditional approach for reporters, we will also use the excellent "community question-reality (problem)-joint research-joint discussion" approach.

Our reporters are always online (if the security component allows it!) and consistently in touch via social media. We always announce our trips and topics in advance. That way, you can always speak to a reporter directly, making the communication more personable. You can clarify, advise, and suggest. You will be able to report a problem. You will be able to help the people we will talk about directly.

What are our values?

Human dignity above all else!

  • Humanity
  • Honesty
  • Visuality
  • Quality and depth (comprehensiveness)
  • Impartiality

Where does the money come from?

We collected the amount needed for the start from two different sources.

The first part came from donations from the people on the Spilnokosht crowdfunding platform.

The second is a grant from the International Renaissance Foundation, a Frontliner project partner.

This money allowed us to purchase initial equipment (photo-, video, and editing laptop), rent a car, and sustain us for the first months of work.

We added much of our equipment to the project, but more is needed for the perspective. We still need additional sets of photo equipment, lenses, a high-zoom camera, a night camera, flash drives, and discs. If LTE towers are not functioning, an independent satellite internet connection is required. It is better not to think about a large-scale escalation of hostilities, but this probability must also be taken into account.

We will partially monetize to offset the costs of running the project. We will partially monetize to offset the costs of running the project.
